Caring. Candid. Character.

Greg Cannon has created jobs and built a successful small business in Henry County for 22 years.  He is passionate about ensuring that Henry County remains an outstanding place to work and live so that the next generation has opportunities to stay here, close to home.  Why?  Because Henry County is his home, too.

Greg is the oldest child of four, coming from a hard-working family with very humble means.  It was sometimes tough, and very early Greg determined that hard work and education would be vital to the future. That understanding is critical still today, especially as Henry County continues to evolve.  Jobs; education; controlled growth; opportunity:  these needs can and must be balanced by our commissioners.

Cannon was the originator and implementor of the following unique programs in Henry County:

  • #HenryStrong Parade @ Piedmont Henry Hospital -May 6, 2020:  recognizing local health care providers for their efforts during the COVID pandemic

  • Active Shooter Training @ Glen Haven Baptist –February 26, 2019:  community-wide training focused on local houses of worship

  •  Turn Henry County BLUE – entire month of August 2016 to recognize and support Henry County law enforcement

  •  Great Bear Share -November 16, 2019: creating and distributing stuffed Teddy Bears for Law Enforcement and Fire.

  • Coroner, Henry County, GA, 5 years, engaging with individuals, families, law enforcement, health care and state and federal officials.

  • Past secretary, McDonough, GA, Rotary Club
